João, Yuval, Daniel and Miguel. Four individuals, three different countries, but a common goal: to move beyond individuality and create something special together— a unified voice, a shared expression. Ultimately: an essence.
Whether performing in an auditorium, a church, a park, or in an alternative venue, the Essentia Trombone Quartet is the ideal ensemble to offer the audience an engaging, meticulously crafted and at once relaxed experience.
Born from a long friendship and a mutual passion for chamber music, the Essentia Trombone Quartet emerges as a formation driven by the desire to infuse fresh energy into the contemporary musical landscape while presenting a rich and diverse repertoire to the audience, all without losing sight of sound purity and interpretative sensitivity.
Historically used by renown composers as substitute of human voice, and even as a bridge between the earthly and the celestial, the trombone leaves a lasting impression on its listeners.
With its broad and varied timbre, range and versatility, the trombone quartet allows an exploration of a wide spectrum of human emotions through a carefully curated repertoire.
A proof of this contrast was recognized at the Littin International Trombone Quartet Competition, where our quartet was awarded with the second prize.
Sound, expression, emotion, and of course, enjoyment: these are our fundamentals, the pillars of Essentia Trombone Quartet.
